About us

Global Care Development (GCD) is a healthcare solution development company focused on creating innovative, fun and effective tools for improving patient care, wellness and mental health.

Letter from the founder

I grew up the oldest of seven. That is not a small thing. It means years of watching people you love figure out who they are, avoid pitfalls, often painfully, and understanding early that the world is not particularly well set up to help them do it gracefully. Those observations never left me.

The premise at Global Care Development is simple: young people are not broken for avoiding care that was never designed for them. We are the ones who need to adapt. So we combined clinical psychology with game design and started building something that meets them where they already are — engaged, curious, and looking for value.

The mental health crisis among young people is not going to solve itself, and waiting for traditional systems to catch up is not a strategy. We intend to reach the people who cannot afford care, who would never walk into a clinic, but who will absolutely show up for something that respects their intelligence and speaks their language. That is what we are building. I think the opportunity is enormous, and I think we are only getting started.

A research-led approach

Ung Depresjon is not built on hunches. It is developed back to back with a systematic review of the scientific literature on unguided, internet-delivered therapies for depression — The Best Practice of Unguided Internet Delivered Therapy (Simon Brennstrom). The review maps what actually works in digital mental-health tools when no therapist is present, and its findings steer every product decision we make.
